Yet another new venture for us, is second world war gaming using Rapid Fire rules. As usual, I got confused at times during our first game, because the rules really are very simple! I always expect things to be more complicated than they actually are, which is a curse from learning to play wargames in the 1980’s with WRG rules. A couple of boxes of Valiant Miniatures plastic figures have provided us with all the troops we need to get started and, although they are theoretically bigger than the 20mm vehicles we bought from the Rapid Fire Ready to Roll range, everything looked fine to me once the troops were placed on the table. After one game, we were pretty happy that Rapid Fire would provide us with some entertaining and challenging games, so I’m now planning to soldier on with the painting ready for a bigger game next time. Feel free to browse the pictures of our first sortie, or clicking on the other images will link you to the companies who provide the hardware.
